NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday 8.30 - 16.30 This is a Fixed term post for 1 year Post Title: Senior Dental Officer – Special Care (1 year fixed term) Base: Victoria ACH and Stobhill Hospital An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to the post of Senior Dental Officer (Special Care) to support the clinical management and treatment of Special Care patients within the Public Dental Service (PDS) in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The successful candidate will be involved in the treatment of complex and vulnerable patients both registered and referred to the Public Dental Service, utilising a range of clinical techniques including sedation and general anaesthetic within both fixed and mobile clinics. The post holder must be registered with the General Dental Council as a dentist. The successful applicant will be expected to have regular contact with a range of partners including: • Public Dental Service staff • Complex Needs Team Members • Glasgow University • Secondary Care dental colleagues • Oral Health Improvement Teams The post holder will be required to work 37.5 hrs per week (part-time and job share requests will be considered), to provide clinical care and leadership across all services within their remit.
